Overview
A concept redesign for Western Australian abstract artist Josh Windram, replacing an older portfolio site with a cleaner presentation centred around the artwork itself.
The Project
I designed and developed the concept from the ground up, with the site designed to feel closer to browsing a digital gallery than navigating a conventional portfolio website.
The interface is deliberately minimal, using large artwork, restrained typography and simple navigation so Josh's work remains the dominant element throughout the experience.
The initial concept and working implementation were completed over approximately two weeks.
Data-Driven Art Portfolio
Josh has a large catalogue of individual works, making a manually maintained portfolio impractical.
Artwork information is stored as structured data and used to generate the portfolio at build time. Individual works can be catalogued with their associated information and added to the site without manually creating or maintaining separate page markup.
This allows the portfolio to grow with Josh's catalogue while keeping the content and presentation separate.
