Overview
A concept redesign for Western Australian abstract artist Josh Windram, replacing an older portfolio site with a cleaner presentation focused on the artwork itself.
The Project
I designed and built the concept from scratch, with the site intended to feel more like browsing a digital gallery than navigating a conventional portfolio.
The interface is minimal, using large artwork, restrained typography and simple navigation so Josh's work stays at the centre of the experience.
The initial concept and working implementation were completed in about two weeks.
Portfolio Data
Josh has a large catalogue of individual works, so maintaining the portfolio manually would quickly become impractical.
Artwork information is stored as structured data and used to generate the portfolio at build time. New works can be added with their associated details without creating or maintaining separate page markup.
This keeps the content separate from the presentation and makes the portfolio easier to maintain as the catalogue grows.
