Shopify Merchant Integrations & Custom Development

Overview

Across 8+ years working with the Power Tools Shopify applications, I have worked on integrations and custom development across hundreds of production Shopify stores.

The work has primarily involved integrating Power Tools applications into existing merchant storefronts, particularly Filter Menu, and adapting themes and product rendering so the applications work correctly within each store's existing implementation.

Merchant Integration Work

Every Shopify theme is different, and production stores frequently contain existing customisations, third-party applications and merchant-specific behaviour that need to continue working.

My work has included:

• integrating Power Tools applications into merchant themes
• customising theme and storefront behaviour around Filter Menu
• adapting collection and product/variant rendering
• implementing merchant-specific Shopify functionality
• debugging interactions between applications, themes and existing custom code
• troubleshooting production issues
• providing ongoing support for existing integrations

Working Across Production Stores

Working across hundreds of Shopify stores means regularly stepping into unfamiliar production environments rather than working from a clean starting point.

Each store can have a different theme, existing custom code, third-party applications and its own approach to products, variants and collection rendering. Integrating new functionality means understanding those existing systems and adapting the implementation without unnecessarily disrupting the rest of the storefront.

Over time, that work has meant dealing with unusual edge cases, debugging code I didn't originally write, tracing interactions between themes and applications, and making changes safely on stores actively serving customers.
